Welcome to my website/blog!
Today is the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He’s the one that got me to do this—so here it is—my first official blog post. The Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Burning Furnace of Charity is the ignition behind this blog. “I came to cast fire upon the earth; and would that it were already kindled!” (Luke 12). Please blame Him for all the spiritual arson that may result from reading.
My name is Harold T. Gomes. I’m 29 and in a wheelchair. That’s partly the reason for the word “chariot” in Chariot of Fire. Tomorrow I will post a little more about myself. And about the woman who “stole” my heart, to whom this site is dedicated.
Please find here, my thoughts on—life, the Way the Truth and the Life, Scripture, film, art, music, running the race (to win) and fighting the good fight.
Thanks for visiting/reading!
Great looking blog, can’t wait to read your posts.
Harold…..
I read your faith story in the Sisters of Life Spring magazine. I was touched by your comments on suffering. Particularly I want to comment on your response of the question “What has been the most difficult of living with your disability”. You indicated “letting others help me”. Well, your witness has absolutely already helped a fellow man – me. The gift you have received, you are freely giving as a gift to others (Mth 10:18). As you can see, your suffering will bring the “promise” of Christ…to others! Your Blog and beautiful witness says it all. Please keep me in your prayers, as I am being considered for the Deaconate. I will keep you in mine, as well as your sister Henrietta, as she travels on her vocational journey!
By the way, if you haven’t read it, a good book is The Promise, by Fr. Johnathan Morris.
