Today is the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica. Also called St. John Lateran, it’s one of the first churches in Rome built after the early persecutions. Pope Sylvester dedicated the church in 324 AD. The Roman Catholic Church celebrates this feast of the ‘Mother of all the churches in Rome and of the world’ every year.
