October 7th

On the first Sunday of October of 1571, the Turkish fleet threatening Muslim domination of Europe was defeated by the greatly outnumbered Christians at the Battle of Lepanto.  To  commemorate the victory, attributed to Our Lady–whose aid was invoked by the praying of the Rosary, Pope Paul V instituted the feast of our Lady of the Rosary.

Praying the Rosary is something that we can do consciously for the world. Especially in these troubled times with the election and economic crisis in the US,  religious persecution in the world especially in India and Iraq, abortion, war and natural disasters… Pray. Pray like you’ve never prayed before. The world depends on it.
