Friends,
Please vote.
The US presidential election is upon us. I have become aware, more than ever, that Christians of the world we are called to love the world. To love the world is to want the greatest good for our world. God put us here for a reason—to be faithful and responsible stewards of what he has entrusted to us. Voting then, and voting wisely, is required of us by God. If we have not done so, now is the time to inform our consciences. Who would God have us vote for?
The president must uphold the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Without life you cannot have liberty nor can you pursue happiness. One has to be alive first. The right to life therefore, takes first place over every issue.
Unbelievably, there are some among us who are robbed of their right to life, in this country… it happens everyday. More than 49,000,000 Americans have been ‘legally’ killed since 1972 (1). That year, the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade legalized abortion—the killing of unborn children.
(If you want to know what an abortion procedure is like, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us_y9GP_-DA)
War–if it is justified–is to defend. It is never authorized for the purpose of directly and intentionally taking life. Abortion is always authorized for the purpose of directly and intentionally taking life.
This is not just about one issue. All issues are connected to this one. For example, Blessed Mother once said “I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child…if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?” (2)
The president that must know the difference between serving the public and killing the public.
All that being said, where do the candidates stand on abortion? Rather than drop names, i have attached a non-partisan flyer summarizing the candidates positions side-by-side.
Vote… Choose life!
God bless,
Harold T. Gomes
