The 14 Holy Helpers are like Catholic X-Men or Justice League (take your pick).

At a time when Europe was being ravaged by the bubonic plague, these 14 saints were called upon for their assistance against the epidemic. I posted about one of them, St. George, before the recent outbreak… It seems to me that with the swine flu and everything, we could be invoking them for protection from this too (as well all threatening diseases).

Saint Pantaleon, miraculous exemplar of charity,
Saint Vitus, special protector of chastity,

Saint Cyriacus (Cyriac), terror of Hell,
Saint Achatius (Acacius), helpful advocate in death,
Saint Eustachius (Eustace), exemplar of patience in adversity,
Saint Giles, despiser of the world,
Saint Margaret, valiant champion of the Faith,
Saint Catherine, victorious defender of the Faith and of purity,
Saint Barbara, mighty patroness of the dying,
