Saint Paul writes in his letter to the Ephesians chapter 3:14-15:
“…I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named…”
That means that the earthly reality of fatherhood is a reflection of the fatherhood of God. “No one is father as God is Father” says the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Knowledge of the fatherhood of God sheds light on what it is to be an earthly father. This is essential knowledge for our society that is in the midst of a crisis of fatherhood.
