Today is the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the beginning of the Year of Priests. There was a special Mass at the National Shrine to inaugurate the year dedicated to priests proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI. Cardinal McCarrick, our previous archbishop, extolled the virtues of the patron of priests, St. John Vianney. He talked about the necessity to pray for our priests. Thank God for priests! Without them we could not receive the Sacred Heart into our bodies.
Happy Feastday!
