St. Peter and St. Paul cheer me on

The witness of courage and heroism of St. Peter and Paul fill me with encouragement and hope. Both of these most greatest of apostles proclaimed Christ by their words and works amidst persecutions and hardships. No servant is greater than the master – – the way he went is the way that the disciples must go. Tha why St. Paul says that we must undergo hardships in order to enter into the kingdom of God. He underwent these trials for the glory of the name of Jesus. St. Peter and St. Paul fought the good fight and finished the race all the way to the end.

As I’m undergoing the additional trial of type II diabetes, I am lifted up by the apostles St. Peter and St. Paul. I was also able to eat more today and I felt much better than I have been. the past few weeks have been extremely difficult for me but the Lord keep strengthening me through it one day, one moment at a time… Almost there, I keep telling myself as I’m sure Saint Peter and Paul must’ve done during their sojourn on earth.

Jesus uses the most unlikeliest candidates to build his kingdom and glorify God of the Father. He chose St. Peter, a simple fishermen. He chose St. Paul, a persecutor of Christians. They were transformed by his glorious grace into missionaries and the founders of the Church at Rome. They finally gave the ultimate glory to God when they were martyred for his kingdom. May we, by their intercession, persevere all the way to the end and keep the faith proclaiming the greatest glory of God by the witness of our lives – – until we attain to the crown of righteousness and the subsequent resurrection to life.
